Ash Wednesday is on February 17. We will celebrate Holy Eucharist and the Signing with Ashes at 6 p.m. in the church, as well as a Distribution of Ashes Service at 12:15 p.m. in the church. Please remember that Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting (one full meal and two small meals) and abstinence (no meat). The 7 a.m. Holy Eucharist and Signing with Ashes has been cancelled due to the dangerous weather conditions.

There will be no daily Mass on Thursday, February 11.

Mass on Wednesday, February 3, will be at 7 a.m. in the church.

The annual Respect Life Mass and Walk is scheduled for Saturday, January 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, Amarillo. Since we don't have holy water available in our usual containers, we invite you to bring water in your own container to be blessed on the Solemnity of the Baptism of the Lord on January 9 & 10. It is that weekend when the main season of Christmas draws to a close.

Due to the inclement weather, the following activities have been cancelled: RCIA, Safe Environment Make-Up Training for High School, Teaching Mass (will be rescheduled), and Youth Night. Thanksgiving Day Mass will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 26, in the church. Parishioners are encouraged to bring a food item (bread, bottle of wine, pie...) to be blessed that they will then share with their families.

This year, the Solemnity of All Saints falls on a Sunday. Besides taking care of two holy days in one, we have the opportunity to celebrate some cultural and Catholic customs next weekend and throughout the month of November. There will be no daily Masses on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 20 and 21.

There will be a Blessing of College Students and Young Adults Leaving Home at all the Masses on August 8 & 9 and August 15 & 16. There will also be a Blessing of Students and Teachings Beginning School at all the Masses on August 15 & 16.

The 15-members of the Permanent Diaconate Class of the Diocese of Amarillo, including St. Ann's parishioner Joe Roder, will be ordained by Bishop Patrick J. Zurek Saturday, August 15, during a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Mass will be broadcast on St. Valentine Catholic Radio and livestreamed on the diocesan website.

There will be no weekday Masses this week.

Palms will be blessed at next Sunday's Palm/Passion Sunday Mass and be made available for your drive-by reception. Fr. Scott and the deacons will be in front of the church next Sunday, April 5, from noon to 1 p.m. to hand out blessed palms and offer a blessing to those who drive up (moving north to south), weather permitting. Please do NOT exit your cars. Starting at 2 p.m. than day, blessed palms will be available in barrels for your taking in front of the entrance to the chapel, as well as next to the mailbox in front of the rectory. Please take only enough for you and your family, and save some for others.

All Masses have been suspended until further notice due to the Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) protocols enacted by Bishop Zurek.

In conjunction with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, special protocols for Masses have been put into place by Bishop Zurek until further notice. These protocols will be read before each of this weekend’s Masses. Some things to note before you come to Mass: • Please do not come to Mass or to any large gatherings of people if you are sick, elderly, have a compromised immune system or chronic illness. It is not wrong to miss Mass in these circumstances and in light of the current pandemic. • Please plan to avoid handshaking and close contact at the liturgies until further notice. • Feel free to spread out in the church if possible in order to put some distance between each other. • Come with clean hands and a plan to cover your mouth and nose if you need to cough or sneeze. • Please note that the parish staff and Ushers will be wiping down door handles and other surfaces between Masses. • Exercise thoughtfulness and courtesy, especially as we seek to do our own part to protect not only ourselves but others who might be more vulnerable. Lord, take care of your people, especially those who are sick and vulnerable as well as those health care workers and scientists who seek to cure and care for those struck by disease. Our parish family will welcome Bishop Zurek next Sunday (December 15) at the 9 a.m. Mass wherein he will preside at the Order of Installation of a Pastor. This brief ritual serves to remind both the pastor and the people of our call to journey together in collaboration as members of the household of God. Fr. Scott would appreciate everyone's best efforts to be present at this Mass so as to benefit from our prayers and presence together as we continue the beautiful story of grace being written by God in us as the faith community of St. Ann's.

Fr. Taylor Elzner, our parish's former youth director, was ordained to the priesthood this past weekend at St. Mary's Cathedral in Amarillo. This Sunday, June 9, Fr. Taylor Elzner will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving here at St. Ann's at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow the Mass in the parish hall. Please join us for this celebration!

The Baccalaureate Mass is this Sunday (May 19) at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Book scholarship winners will be announced at that time and the parish's gift to seniors will also be presented.
