We will have choir practice in preparation for our upcoming Palm Sunday and Triduum Masses. We would like to invite our current choir members and anyone who would like to join us for these celebrations. The practice will be Thursday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the church. We are very excited to be able to come together to have choir practice and ask that you please wear a mask. We will also be observing social distancing guidelines. We are currently forming our Christmas music program for a COVID-friendly Christmas! We are in need of voices and a trumpet. If you are interested in volunteering any musical talent you may have, please call Cindy Good at the parish office (655-3302).

There will be a short meeting for ALL Music Ministers this Wednesday, May 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the church. We will discuss protocols and scheduling for returning to public Masses. The Children's Choir will be singing at Mass on Sunday, April 19, at the 9 a.m. Mass. To prepare, we will have the following rehearsal schedule:  5:45-6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning March 25 through April 15. Thank you, parents, for allowing your children to share their talents for this important ministry. Your support is much appreciated.

The very dedicated St. Ann's Choir is beginning to prepare for the upcoming Easter season. We would love to have YOU join us. We offer Wednesday or Thursday choir practices at 6:30 p.m. (you will be out in an hour!). You can also choose which Sunday Mass you would like to sing at, either 9 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. For the Triduum this year, the choir will join as one large choir to celebrate the Easter season. In case you haven't heard (LOL!), St. Ann's has a choir at both Sunday Masses! Now you can have the convenience to go to either Mass on Sunday and sing in the choir at whichever Mass you attend. Speaking of convenience, we have designed a choir practice to fit *your* schedule. Starting this month, there will be two different practice times offered. They are on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Please note the adjusted time on Wednesdays. We would like to thank our choir, cantors, and musicians for their dedication in making this new choir a success. There are several upcoming occasions to help with the choir:  Ash Wednesday, Lent, Stations of the Cross, and the Holy Week and Easter season. We need choir members, cantors and musicians. There are many benefits to your New Year's resolution to join St. Ann's Adult Choir! When you sing in church, you pray twice! When you stand up and sing, you can burn as much as 150 calories in an hour! When you join the choir, you automatically receiving extra prayers! We pray for everyone in our choir family. There are many more advantages to joining our choir. Please consider making that one hour a week commitment to choir. Our new practice time is Wednesday nights in 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. Our adult and children's choirs are seeking new members! We especially need male singers in the adult choir. Please consider participating in our choirs as we strive to "make a joyful noise until to the Lord!" The Children's Choir (grades 1-5) rehearses on Wednesdays from 5-5:45 p.m. (beginning September 12). The Adult Choir rehearses on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

We are seeking additional singers for our choir! We are especially in need of male voices. Our hope is for the St. Ann's Choir to be second to none in our diocese, but in order to realize that goal, we need many more parishioners to join us as we "make a joyful noise unto the Lord!" (Psalm 98:4 and Psalm 100:1). Choir practice is held in the church each Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. This year, we want to include more choral anthems in our Sunday liturgies, offer a couple of seasonal Choral Evensong liturgies, and plan for a Festival of Lessons and Carols during Advent. But we can only do that with your help and participation! There's room for everybody in our parish choir, so please give it a try. And remember, our choir is not just for Christmas and Holy Week anymore! We are a year-round ministry!

Sunday, December 17, is your last opportunity to join the children's choir in time for Christmas. We will practice in the church immediately after the 11:15 Mass on December 17.

Practices are each Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The children's choir is open to all students in grades 2-6.

Don't forget to stop by the parish hall after Mass today for our annual parish ministry fair. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the many organizations, activities, and ministries of our parish and to consider participating in one or more of these ministries. Refreshments will be served at the fair!

All are invited to a concert featuring internationally-known Catholic musicians Bob Hurd and Jaime Cortez on Thursday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. Workshops for musicians will be held on Friday evening, March 24, and Saturday, March 25. As one of the largest parishes in the diocese, and as a parish located in a town with a great public school music program and one of the best state university music schools in Texas, we are hoping that St. Ann's will develop a choir that is second to none in hte Texas Panhandle!
