Are you interested in learning how to make authentic Czech kolaches for this year’s Czech dinner? If so, join us for one of our kolache bake sessions in the parish hall kitchen! We will be baking from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 19.

Please circle Sunday, February 20, for a parish potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall. We haven't been able to do this for way too long and it's time to push through the February blahs amid the warmth of our fellow parishioners. We will celebrate in a special way our Light on a Hill Capital Campaign as well as the synodal process being enacted in the Church on the local, diocesan, regional, national and international levels. (We will soon announce how you can participate in the some listening and feedback sessions.) Last names starting with: A-I, bring a side; J-R, bring a dessert; S-Z, bring an entree.

Calling all Czech Sausage Dinner aficionados! Our first planning meeting for this year's Czech Sausage Dinner will be on Thursday, January 20, at 6 p.m. in the parish hall. Any parishioners who are interested in helping to plan the event are welcome to join.

To schedule your photography appointment online, simply go to https://ucdir.com, click on Photography Appointment Scheduling Login on the right side of the page, enter tx148 in the Church Code filed, and then enter photos in Church Password field. Follow the prompts to schedule your family's appointment time. If you have 6 or more in your family, please use 2 consecutive time slots. The online scheduling option is available Monday through Friday. Appointments fill up quickly, so schedule as soon as possible to secure your preferred date and time. Beginning in January, we will also offer in person scheduling after every weekend Mass. (Online scheduling is unavailable on the weekends to prevent double-booking of time slots.) There are fewer than 60 spots available (as of Friday, Jan. 14).

St. Ann's Speaker Series continues on Wednesday, January 19, at 6:45 p.m. in the church, with refreshments served in the parish hall by the offices at 6:30 p.m. Fr. Scott and members of the Building Committee will give a presentation on the parish building plans and the upcoming capital campaign.

Please make plans to join us on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. as we adorn the church for our celebration of Christmas.

The pandemic has brought grief to many areas of our lives, from deaths to job loss to postponed weddings and cancelled graduations. For all of the grief our parish family has endured during this time, we would like to invite you to a special event behing held on Thursday, November 18, at 6 p.m. in the parish hall. Licensed grief counselor, Angela Keller, will be here to speak with us on dealing with grief during the holidays. Angela received her Master's in Community Counseling with an emphasis in Ministry & Theology from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. She is the niece of the late Fr. Ken Keller. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided, as will time for prayer and healing at the end.

Join us on Saturday, November 13, from 9:30-11 a.m. for breakfast and a workshop on planning your own Catholic funeral. For childcare during the workshop, please call the parish office at 806-655-3302 before Wednesday, November 10.

All children of the parish (and their adult family members) are invited to join us for an evening of games, food, and prizes on Wednesday, October 27 from 6-8 p.m. in the parish hall! There will be costume contests for three different age groups (infant-K; grades 1-4; and grades 5-12). Hot dogs, nachos, and Frito pie will be served. This event is sponsored by the youth of our parish. There is no charge, but cash donations will be accepted.

Please join us as we celebrate with Joe and Karen the Ordination Anniversary of Deacon Joe Roder at 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, in the parish hall. Finger foods and drinks will be served.

If you are 55 and older, come join us for an afternoon of food, fun, and fellowship on Friday, October 22, from 1-3 p.m. in the parish hall. Those 55-72, please bring a main dish; 73-80 bring a salad or vegetable; and those 81 and older bring a jello, fruit, or other dessert dish to share with 6-8 others. Bingo is free to play, with cash prizes! (Rescheduled from Friday, October 15.)

St. Ann's Fallback Festival will be on Saturday, November 6, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Tickets are $125 for two, and include a steak dinner, dance, and an entry in the reverse drawing for a grand prize of $5,000. There will also be a sneak peek of the new building plans! Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. The Balance Matters class is for those 60 and older. The 8 week class starts Thursday, September 2 and goes through Thursday, October 21, from 1-2 p.m. Please contact Laurie Featherstone to register. All parishioners are invited to a celebration in honor of Deacon Gabe and Pauline Rivas, who marked the 25th anniversary of Gabe's ordination as Deacon on June 1. We look forward to celebrating all the years of service and leadership they have provided to our parish. Join us on Saturday, July 31, beginning with Mass at 5 p.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall. May the Holy Spirit continue to work in and through you to help you continue to proclaim the Gospel and care for the People of God in your midst.

We are having a fun set of art sessions for all ages on the following days: Sunday, July 18, from 2:30-4 p.m. for families (parents and kids) on the topic of Baptism; Monday, July 19, from 10-11:30 a.m. for middle and high school students on the top of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, and on Tuesday, July 20, from 7-8:30 p.m. for adults on the topic of the source of our faith, the Eucharist. No art skills are required! Come and enjoy wom time with fellow parishioners letting your creative spirit fly!

As many of you have now participated in the Spiritual Gifts Assessments and are attending the summer Gifts Workshops, you may have asked yourself what all this is leading up to. we have a grande finale for you by way of a Ministry Fair being held this August. The Fair will have information on all current (and upcoming) ministries at St. Ann's that you can plug into in order to use your personal spiritual gifts. Group leaders and staff will be available to talk with you and we will be offering some great door prizes as well. As we head into more reopening this fall, we are excited to see what God has in store for His body here at St. Ann's and hope you will all desire to be a part of His work among us!

In case you missed last weekend's blessing, we will have another blessing next weekend (June 26-27) after all Masses. Please carefully drive your vehicle to the front of the church, forming two lines running south from Tierra Blanca Drive towards the church parking lot. Your vehicle will be blessed and doused with holy water and be given a gift to mark the blessing given. Wink-wink: Extra blessings will be bestowed on the vehicles with the St. Ann's Parish decal on them.
