We haven’t had a food drive or outreach project lately. We have become aware, however,  that the Fill With Hope outreach that provides snack packets for the food-challenged  students in Canyon ISD are in desperate need of peanut butter donations. For the next several weeks, we will have a bin in the church narthex as well as the Blessed Sacrament Chapel (open 24 hours) to collect donations of medium-sized jars of peanut butter (16 ounce or 28 ounce jars). It is good protein and goes a long way. Thank you for helping with this basic but crucial need

Ordinarily August 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a holy day of obligation. But not this year. Most dioceses in the western United States do not require Mass attendance when such holy days fall on a Saturday or Monday. While it is not obligatory, we will have a Mass for the solemnity on Monday, August 15, at 8 a.m. in the church. Come celebrate all that God's grace has accomplished in the life of Mary - the same grace that can accomplish great things

Anyone who currently works with or plans to work with children or youth and is not certified must attend a Safe Environment Training session. The certification is good for five years. St. Ann's will have a training session on Saturday, August 27, from 9 a.m.-noon. Faith Formation registration for children and adults will open online (https://stannsofcanyon.org/faith-formation-registration) on Wednesday, August 17, at 10 a.m. In-person registration will start the weekend of August 20 & 21 after all Masses. Our theme for Children's Faith Formation this year is "God's Love for us is Deep and Wide!" Sign your child up for formation soon so they can experience the depth of God's love!

The next Reborn session is scheduled for Tuesday, July 26, at 7 p.m. in the parish hall. This session is for those who are planning to have a son or daughter baptized in the next few months and those who have been invited to serve as a godparent. Do you love the Catholic faith and want to help those who have stopped practicing their faith to come back? St. Ann's is starting a new ministry, Landings, to reach out and invite Catholics who have drifted away from the Church to return home. A welcome team is needed to begin the ministry. There will be a training for all team members at the beginning of September and the program will begin around the first of November. If you are interested in serving on the team, please contact Kevin Rickwartz (his phone number is in the the July 24 bulletin.)

Are or someone you know interested in learning more abut the Catholic faith? Most people who join RCIA do so because of someone evangelizing and inviting them! Remember to share your faith and invite your friends, coworkers, etc. to come experience our dynamic RCIA this coming school year! Our parish will be participating in this year's I Heart Canyon Festival, though it will look a little bit different. The festival this year will be just that, a community building, fun, energetic festival beginning with a praise and worship hour from 6-7 p.m. and ending with free games, a free cookout, free horseback riding, and free access to the CAP (Canyon Aquatic Park) from 7-9 p.m. Please visit iheartcanyon.com to volunteer in any of the activities and purchase a serve team t-shirt. Along with this event, St. Ann's is looking to adopt a local school to provide more direct support of the teachers, staff, and students!

Over the summer, we will be offering our spiritual gifts workshops once again. The classes are between the 9 .m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses in the Adult Education Room. Join us for a night out at Hodgetown on Saturday, September 3, at 7:05 p.m.! Save the date and time and be on the lookout for sign-up sheets in the coming weeks! We hope that you will join us!

We are looking for people to join our nursery workers! Requirements include the following: Must be 16 years old or older; have experience caring for children, with references; pass a background check; be able to lovingly care for the youngest of our parishioners at the parish premises on Sunday mornings and/or Wednesday evenings. Totus Tuus 2022 will be from Sunday, July 10, through Friday, July 15. Registration forms will be available in the narthex or on the parish website (on the Children's Faith Formation webpage). Registration will close on Sunday, July 3. Totus Tuus is available for all incoming students in grades 1-12 free of charge. Host family for the 2 guy missionaries 2 day volunteers for classroom monitors from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 2 evening volunteers for classroom monitors from 7-9:30 p.m 1 lunch distributor per day from noon-1 p.m. Snack Prep volunteers from 9:45-10:15 a.m. OR 1:45-2:15 p.m. Provide snacks for the evening sessions (Cheez-Its, fruit, chips, etc.)

The Great St. Ann's Ice Cream Churn-Off will be on Sunday, June 12, from 6-8 p.m. in the parish hall. If you are interested in preparing some homemade ice cream, please stop by the parish office to pick up our "contest rules." It promises to be a fun night with lots of great ice cream to taste! We will have hot dogs provided by our own Knights of Columbus, and play bingo in the hall! Everyone is invited to sample the ice cream and enjoy this social evening! A grand prize and additional prizes will be awarded.

We are very blessed to have amazing catechists in our Faith Formation program at St. Ann's! Thank you to all of our catechists who gave of their time, talent, and treasure this Faith Formation year! Their ministry to our young people is invaluable and very much appreciated!

We are looking for a few people to join the choir for the summer! Summertime is a great time to give our choir a break and "try out" a choir seat for yourself. We are very informal ... just arrive 30 minutes before Mass at the music office and grab a folder. There is no pressure or commitment, just enjoy hanging out with the music ministers this summer. You are welcome to attend rehearsals, but they are totally optional.

St. Ann's Quilting Ministry continues throughout the summer, making wheelchair lap quilts and baptismal blankets. Come join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in Meeting Room C from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or whatever time you have available. We hope to see you there!

As we put every aspect of our lives under the protection of God, our parish will host a blessings of cars, automobiles, RVs, boats, dune buggies, Segways, scooters, etc. on Saturday and Sunday, June 11 & 12, after each Mass. Please carefully drive your vehicle to the front of the church, forming two lines running south from Tierra Blanca Drive towards the church parking lot. Your vehicle will be blessed and doused with holy water.
