Our Fallback Committee is already diligently planning for our annual Fallback Dinner and Dance on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Prepare to be contacted or even volunteer to be a sponsor of the event and/or donate an item/experience/service to the silent auction by contacting Theresa Hernandez (her contact information is in the September 1 bulletin) as soon as possible. Of course everyone will be urged to buy tickets and sell tickets to your neighbors, family, and friends. The proceeds from this event are needed more than even as we look to pay for our new buildings under construction. Thank you!

There are no Faith Formation classes this weekend due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2. We hope you enjoy your long weekend and wish you safe travels if you are hitting the road! St. Ann's is fortunate to have a number of generous parishioners who have stepped up to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Lector, and/or Usher at our parish liturgies. As we do at least once a year, we will have a joint updating and troubleshooting meeting of all people CURRENTLY involved in these ministries after each of the Masses on the weekend of August 24-25 in the church. Please bring yourself as well as your questions to this meeting!

We are ​always in need of eager and reverent young people to be trained ​as Altar Servers. ​For new Altar Servers, training sessions will be held on Saturday, September 14, from 10 a.m.-noon in the church, and Wednesday, September 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the church. Boys and girls must have received the First Communion and be actively participating the the Catholic fundamentals of ​Mass on Sundays and Holy Days and Faith Formation classes. (Parents of potential new servers should sign ​up their child near the Good Shepherd statue in the narthex and take an Altar Server ​handbook for their child to study BEFORE they come to training.)

All available strong arms, legs, and backs are needed for a major moving back in day on Saturday, August 10, at 9 a.m. Please bring two-wheelers and dolly carts if you have them, as well as rags and dusting spray to clean up furniture from construction dust. Together we can do it!

Adults, it belongs to us to learn and know our faith in order to share it, teach it, and live it. While limited space will limit our options this first part of the school year, we are pleased to announce the following opportunities for adult catechesis: Bible Basics for Catholics with Deacon Joe Roder: both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings (pick one); A Catholic Pilgrimage through American History with Fr. A Safe Environment Training Session will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, from 6-9 p.m. Due to the construction at St. Ann's, the session will be held in The Market, to the east of the church. The 34th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, sponsored by St. Ann's Knights of Columbus Council No. 7840, will be on Saturday, August 3, at Palo Duro Creek Golf Club in Canyon. Check in starts at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The format is 4-person scramble (A, B, C, & D player). The entry fee is $125 per player, which includes green fees, cart, prizes, lunch & 2 drink tickets, 2-Mulligans, 1-skirt shot. Prizes will be awarded for: winners, closest-to-in, longest drive, and random drawings. The deadline to register is Saturday, August 3, or the first 33 teams to sign up. A catechist is a lifelong learner and disciple of Jesus Christ. Catechists have a wonderfully unique place in parish life. They are, in many ways, the face of the Church for their students and have the responsibility to help them encounter Jesus. Faith Formation classes for children take place on Sundays from 10:15-11:15 a.m. Please check the bulletin and the Faith Formation calendar for the yearly schedule. Catechists should be able to teach most Sundays that classes are offered and are required to be safe environment trained. (Please check the Safe Environment page for training opportunities.) St. Ann's welcomes one of our diocesan seminarians, Ben Seago, for the summer. Ben has been assigned by our diocese to help with our youth department. Ben is helping to lead summer small groups as well as serving as co-camp director at our youth summer camp, July 22-26th. We are excited to have him!

There are a limited number of copies of the next Spiritual Book Club book, Riding the Dragon: 10 Lessons for Inner Strength in Challenging Times by Robert J. Wicks, available in the parish office for a $10 donation. The discussion is scheduled for mid to late July, with the exact date TBA.

We are looking to hire a few more nursery workers. This is a paid position. During the summer months, the hours needed are on Sundays during both Masses and occasionally for a special event. For more information, please call Amber at the parish office at 806-655-3302.

Make plans to join us for a special Corpus Christi morning for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ on Sunday, June 2. St. Ann's will be hosting a Corpus Christi procession between the Masses on Sunday, June 2, at the old courthouse on the Square. After the 9 a.m. Mass, we will all arrive for coffee and donuts around 10 a.m. and begin the procession around the courthouse at 10:30 a.m. We will then come back for Mass at 11:30 a.m

St. Ann's Knights of Columbus Council #7840 will be holding a Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, June 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Amarillo National Tennis Center (5000 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109). Registration is $50 per person for one event, and $20 extra for the second event. Registration is required before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, to establish brackets. T-shirts and a meal by KofC are part of the registration. Packet pickup will be the day of the event (June 15) 40 minutes prior to play at the ANTC.
