All parishioners are invited to join us for an evening of games, food, and fun! Our Halloween Carnival is on Wednesday, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Parish Family Hall. Hot dogs and chips will be served. This event is sponsored by the youth of our parish. There is no charge, but cash donations will be accepted. Also, the youth will be doing wash-off glitter tattoos, face painting, and permanent jewelry for a small cost to raise money for camp.

Our parish Halloween carnival will be on Wednesday, October ​30, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the parish hall. We are asking for donations of individually wrapped snack cakes for the cake walk and candy for prizes. There will be a barrel ​at each entrance of the church for donations. Thank you!

A friendly reminder there will be no Faith Formation classes next Sunday, October 13, due to the CISD Fall Break. We will resume classes on ​Sunday, October 20.

If you signed up, or are interested in becoming an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and were not able to make one of the evening trainings, please join us at the following make-up training: between the Masses on Sunday, ​Oct. 27.

Bring your creatures, great and small, to the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 6, at 4 p.m. The blessing will take place in the east parking lost next to the playground. For the safety of all present, please keep your pet on a leash or in a crate. This custom remembers Saint Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, and is celebrated on or near ​his feast day of October 4.

A Safe Environment Training session will be held at 6 p.m. this Thursday, October 3. Working with the staff at the Catholic Student Center, the St. Ann's Safe Environment Coordinator will hold the training at the Catholic Student Center here in Canyon (2610 4th Ave.). We are thrilled that Faith Formation is off to such a great start this year, and we deeply appreciate the trust you place in us to help guide your children in their journey of faith. Our dedicated Catechists are committed to teaching, but occasionally they may need to miss class due to illness, family emergencies, or ​other commitments. To ensure that our classes continue smoothly, we need a reliable group of volunteers who are willing to step in ​as substitute teachers and classroom helpers. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute your time and talents while serving our parish community. If you feel called to support our program in this way, please consider joining our team of substitute volunteers. Your involvement would be greatly ​valued and make a ​significant difference in our Faith Formation efforts. Thank you for your continued support and for helping to nurture the faith of our young parishioners.

Our Fallback Committee is already diligently planning for our annual Fallback Dinner and Dance on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Prepare to be contacted or even volunteer to be a sponsor of the event and/or donate an item/experience/service to the silent auction by contacting Theresa Hernandez (her contact information is in the September 1 bulletin) as soon as possible. Of course everyone will be urged to buy tickets and sell tickets to your neighbors, family, and friends. The proceeds from this event are needed more than even as we look to pay for our new buildings under construction. Thank you!

There are no Faith Formation classes this weekend due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2. We hope you enjoy your long weekend and wish you safe travels if you are hitting the road! Classes will resume on Sunday, Sept. 8. If you have not registered your children, please contact the parish office as soon as possible so they can join our Faith Formation programs. All available strong arms, legs, and backs are needed for a major moving back in day on Saturday, August 10, at 9 a.m. Please bring two-wheelers and dolly carts if you have them, as well as rags and dusting spray to clean up furniture from construction dust. Together we can do it!

Adults, it belongs to us to learn and know our faith in order to share it, teach it, and live it. While limited space will limit our options this first part of the school year, we are pleased to announce the following opportunities for adult catechesis: Bible Basics for Catholics with Deacon Joe Roder: both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings (pick one); A Catholic Pilgrimage through American History with Fr. Faith Formation registration for Pre-K through 6th grade ends on Sunday, August 11. Classes start on Sunday, August 18, and advance registration is required for your children to attend on the first day. Please register promptly to help us prepare adequate supplies and materials. If your child was registered last year, you will only need to review your old form and make any necessary changes. It's super quick and EASY! Either online or paper forms will need to be completed for any new registrations. A catechist is a lifelong learner and disciple of Jesus Christ. Catechists have a wonderfully unique place in parish life. They are, in many ways, the face of the Church for their students and have the responsibility to help them encounter Jesus. Faith Formation classes for children take place on Sundays from 10:15-11:15 a.m. Please check the bulletin and the Faith Formation calendar for the yearly schedule. Catechists should be able to teach most Sundays that classes are offered and are required to be safe environment trained. (Please check the Safe Environment page for training opportunities.)
