Copies of the Advent edition of "The Word Among Us," which includes daily meditations for the entire season, are available in the narthex. We have a limited number of copies, so please take one only if you plan to use it.
The Father/Daughter Dance, originally scheduled for Saturday, December 3, has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 28. We hope that this new date will make it more possible for parishioners to attend without adding to the already hectic schedules that we usually face in December.
No Children's Christmas Choir rehearsal this week because of the Thanksgiving break. Weekly rehearsals will resume next Wednesday (November 30) at 5 p.m. in the church. Children in grades 2-6 are invited to participate.
There is no Youth Ministry this week because of the Thanksgiving Break. We will see you next Wednesday (November 30) as we kick off the Advent season together. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Please join us on Saturday, December 10, at 6 p.m. in the parish hall for a potluck supper honoring our newly ordained deacon, Brian Lewis, and his wife, Cindy. Families with the last names beginning with A-G should bring a main dish; families with last names beginning with H-M should bring a vegetable dish; families with last names beginning with N-R should bring a salad; and families with last names beginning with S-Z should bring a dessert.
Once again, our FallBack Festival was a success! Thanks to everyone who contributed in any way to planning and coordinating this event. Special thanks to Becky and Martin Lopez for chairing this year's festival! Thanks also to the Catholic Student Center for providing a group of students who helped clean up after the event! Congratulations to Robert and Agnes Posadas, who were the winners of the evening's grand prize!
All high school students are encouraged to register for our winter retreat (Friday, January 13 through Saturday, January 14). The retreat will explore the reality of hunger and how we can help "feed the hungry." The registration deadline is Wednesday, January 4. Registration forms are available on the large bulletin board across from the parish offices. The retreat and t-shirt are free for all students who raise at least $50 for Catholic Relief Services.
The diocesan celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe is next Sunday, December 4, beginning with a procession from Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (1210 SE 11th Ave, Amarillo) to the Civic Center at 2 p.m., traditional dances at 3 p.m., and a Mass at 4 p.m.
The Ladies of St. Ann's wish to thank all who contributed in any way to the great success of the 13th Annual Holiday Gifts & Goodies last Saturday. Thanks to the circle members who helped with setup and cleanup, served as hostesses, or provided donations. Thanks also to the many vendors who participated. Special thanks to Paul Blake for his continued kindness and generosity in offering the use of his building. And, finally, thanks to all of the parishioners at St. Ann's who supported the fundraiser and to Cliff Lawson for sharing his time and talent in capturing some great pictures of the children with Santa!
The 13th annual Holiday Gifts & Goodies will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Paul Blake Building, on the northwest corner of the Square (1501 4th Ave.). There will be several vendors there, with a variety of gifts and goodies--get started on your Christmas shopping early! Photos with Santa will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All high school, junior high, and intermediate school students are invited to join us Wednesday evening for a pre-Thanksgiving celebration. The meal will be provided by Saints Anne and Joachim Circle, and it will be followed by a Thanksgiving game night! There will not be Mass or prayer this Wednesday, so join us in the parish hall for the meal at 6:30 p.m. See you there!
