All are invited to bring their pets/animals to the front parking lot of the church for the traditional blessing of animals on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi! Please bring animals on a leash, in a pet carrier, or kept in your vehicle. Prayer cards and blessed medallions will be given to our animals' human companions!
All parents of students who are preparing to receive First Communion or Confirmation are required to attend the Sacramental Preparation Meeting on Wednesday, October 6, at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will give an overview of the First Communion and Confirmation programs and all their requirements as well as supplemental materials for parents to go through at home with their students. Have you moved to Canyon or begun to attend St. Ann's on a regular basis in the last year? St. Ann's New Parishioners Welcome Weekends will be September 25-26 and October 2-3. We would love to help you register and take a photo of your and your family for our "Welcome" bulletin board. A blessing for new parishioners will also be offered at all Masses the same weekends. Our next practice will be Thursday, September 23, at 5:45 p.m. We will start practice with a meet and greet in the conference room in the office area. there will be food, fellowship, and fun! At 6:30 p.m., we will adjourn to the church for an hour-long practice, and will end between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m.
Our small groups will be starting back up next week, September 19-25. If you are already part of a group, your leader will contact you soon. If you are not part of a group, we will have some brand new groups starting up. Be on the lookout for sign-up sheets in the Narthex. This year at St. Ann's, guest speakers will come as part of our Adult Faith Formation. Our first speaker, David Walker, will present "When East Meets West," a discussion on the Eastern Rites of the Catholic Church, on Wednesday, September 29, at 6:45 p.m. in the church. Refreshments will be served outside the parish offices from 6:30-6:45 p.m.
A Baptism Preparation session will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 7 p.m. in the parish hall. This session is for those who are planning to have a son or daughter baptized in the next few months and those who have been invited to serve as a godparent. You must be a registered parishioner for at least three months or have a letter of active participation and good standing from your home parish in order to participate in this class. All youth in grades 5-12 are invited to join us in the parish hall for our Youth Kick-Off this Wednesday, September 8, from 6:30-8 p.m. Come for the food and a night of capture the flag with obstacles and twists. Make sure to wear clothes you can get wet!
