To celebrate this year of St. Joseph in the Universal Church, we have ordered a beautiful new statues of St. Joseph for our parish! (You can see a color photo in the May 30 bulletin.) It is in the same style as our other statues in the main church and chapel. Please join us next weekend in the church after the 9 a.m. Mass on June 6 as we welcome Dr. Jim Rauscher, retired Music Professor at Amarillo College and former Music Director at St. Mary's Cathedral, to showcase our newly repaired organ! We are excited for you to hear its many beautiful sounds!
We will be offering a summer large group class that will take place in the parish hall between the 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses, starting on Sunday, June 13th. The topic will be "Learning to Speak Protestant, " covering how you can share your Catholic faith with your Protestant friends and family, and better listen to their perspective. More info to come!
The Nursery is available for the Sunday Masses. The Nursery is for children ages 3 and under. Parents, please be aware that if there are no children in the Nursery 15 minutes after Mass begins, the Nursery will be closed.
We will once again be offering Totus Tuus, a week-long catechetical program for students entering grades 1-12. This year's program will be June 20-25. Students in grades 1-5 will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday, while grades 6-12 will meet Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7-9:15 p.m. Registration is available on the glass table in the narthex or by clicking on "Totus Tuus Registration" above. To volunteer to host the team for the week or to serve as classroom assistants during the morning and afternoon sessions, contact Adrian Johnson in the parish office (655-3302) or at [email protected]
We will have choir practice in the church on Thursday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. We will be working on music for our special liturgies in May. We invite all existing choir members and any new parishioners that would like to join our choir family. Please keep in mind that we will continue to have the choirs at the Sunday Masses during the summer. We would love to have new people help fill in for "vacationing" music ministers! We hope to see everyone at the practice on May 13 and welcome any new members! We will continue to require masks and ask everyone to social distance. All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join us this Wednesday in the parish hall for a meal and to watch the final episode of season 1 of "The Chosen." We look forward to seeing everyone!
Anyone who currently works with or plans to work with children or youth and is not certified must go through the Safe Environment Training offered Thursday, May 13, at 7 p.m. in the Adult Education Classroom. Parents seeking Baptism for their children and those who have been invited to serve as a Godparent are required to attend a Baptism preparation session prior to the Baptism. The next Baptism Preparation session is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25. at 7 p.m. in the Adult Education Classroom.
