We apologize that again we have to postpone our Spiritual Book Club discussion on our current book, Spiritual Practices for the Brain by Anne Kertz Kernion. The busy Advent season has required some jostling on the parish calendar. Stay tuned as we look for a good date in the new year.
Anyone who currently works with or plans to work with children and is not certified must attend our next Safe Environment Training on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 9 a.m. in the Adult Education Room. First Reconciliation for students preparing for First Communion is scheduled for Saturday, December 3, at 2 p.m. and Saturday, December 10, at 2 p.m. Make sure you've signed up your child for a time slot. Please contact Adrian Johnson at the parish office (806-655-3302) or at [email protected].
All students preparing for Confirmation AND their parents must attend the second of four Confirmation workshops on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. Contact Adrian Johnson if you have any questions or concerns.
St. Nicholas will be visiting our Faith Formation classes when we return from the Thanksgiving Break on Sunday, December 4! He will go around to all the classrooms, say hello, and put candy in the students' shoes. So, be sure to have your students wear easily removable shoes that day. The West Texas Catholic will be changing to a digital version of the newspaper in January. Newspapers will not be mailed out in January, but a limited number will be available at the parish. If there is a shut-in who needs the paper, please contact the Development Office at the diocese at 806-383-2243.
Our Thanksgiving Day Mass will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 24. Parishioners are encouraged to bring a food item (bread, bottle of wine, or pie, ...) to be blessed that they will then share with their families.
Our Children's Christmas Mass the year will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 24th. Christmas Vigil Mass will be at 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 24th and our Christmas Day celebration is at 10 a.m. We invite all youth and adults from the parish to join their voices for this celebration! There will be several opportunities for practice. Please check the calendar for more information. We look forward to preparing to celebrate the coming of Jesus this Christmas with everyone! Join us for an evening with Jeff and Denise Gulde to learn about Catholic Charities on Wednesday, November 30. Refreshments and hors'doeuvres will be served at 6:30, with the presentation starting at 7 p.m. Jeff is the Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle. He is also currently serving on the Diocesan Director's Convening Committee for Catholic Charities USA.

Lector training will be held on Tuesday, November 8, at 7 p.m. This is a required informational overview for anyone interested in becoming a lector. This will be followed up by individual or small group practice sessions which will be scheduled at a later date.
The next Baptism preparation session is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, at 7 p.m. in the parish hall. You must preregister for this class to ensure your spot! This session is for those who are planning to have a son or daughter baptized in the next few months and those who have been invited to serve as a godparent. On Thursday, November 10, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the parish hall, BSA Chaplain Davlin Duesterhaus will be at St. Ann's to share some pointers on dealing with grief during the holiday season. Finger foods and fellowship will be a part of this evening. All are welcome!
