Don't forget to stop by the parish hall after Mass today for our annual parish ministry fair. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the many organizations, activities, and ministries of our parish and to consider participating in one or more of these ministries. Refreshments will be served at the fair!
Because the nursery is rarely used during the Saturday evening Mass, there will be no nursery care available at the 5 p.m. Mass beginning next weekend (Sept. 2-3). Nursery care will continued to be offered at both Sunday morning Masses each weekend, but if use of the nursery during the 8:30 a.m. Mass does not increase over the next several weeks, we will likely stop offering that service at the 8:30 a.m. Mass as well.
All students in grades 5-12 are invited to join us on Wednesday evening for Mass in the church, followed by a delicious meal (chicken Parmesan casserole). After dinner, students will participate in a Bible relay competition. See you there!
This annual event will be held on Saturday, September 16. All parishioners are invited to join us for a free dinner after the 5 p.m. Mass. We extend a special invitation to new parishioners (those who have registered in our parish since last September), who will be recognized and welcomed at this event. If you are interested in competing for the cookoff, please call Debbie at the parish office (655-3302) ASAP to reserve your spot. Please make plans to attend!
This fall, Fr. Busch will teach an adult class (open to high school students and adults) on Sunday mornings called "Questions of Faith." Each week, we will consider a different "big question" with which Catholic Christians wrestle and consider some possible answers to those questions. It promises to be an interesting semester. Join us beginning on Sunday September 10, at 10:05 a.m. in the adult education classroom!
If you are interested in renting a booth at our 14th annual Holiday Gifts and Goodies event on Saturday, November 18, please contact Jennifer Leheska or Katye Winter as soon as possible. Space is limited.
All students in grades 5-12 are invited to join us on Wednesday evening for our Kick-Off Fiesta for the 2017-18 school year! We will gather in the church for Mass at 6 p.m. Then, we'll have an evening of great food and lots of fun in our back parking lot. The food truck from Pepito's will be here and you'll be able to order anything off their food truck menu (including burritos, quesadillas, tacos, nachos, taquitos, and lots more!). There will also be lots of games, inflatables (including an obstacle course), and a "fun flush" (where you can "flush" Adrian, Erica, and/or Cliff Lawson)! You won't want to miss this big fiesta! See you there!
The parish council will meet this Tuesday (August 22) at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room C in the parish hall. Please call the parish office at 655-3302 ASAP if you are a parish council member and are not able to attend the meeting.
Today, August 15, is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a holyday of obligation for all Catholics. Masses will be celebrated at 12:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. All students are invited to bring their backbacks for a special blessing at the end of each Mass.
Please stop by the Faith Formation table at the parish ministry to register your children for faith formation for the 2017/2018 school year. The fee is $15 for one child, $25 for two children, and $30 for three or more children.
Parishioners aged 60+ are invited to join us this Friday afternoon for a potluck luncheon and bingo. If you are between the ages of 60 to 75, please bring a main dish to share with everyone. If you are over the age of 75, please bring a side dish.
All students in grades 5-12 are invited to join us on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the church for Mass, followed by a hamburger and hotdog cookout. After the meal, we will play some card and board games (to help you relax after your first day at school). See you there!
TThe rally for all Serve Team members will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Summit Church (2008 12th Ave.). It is very important that all Serve Team volunteers be present for the rally because t-shirts will be distributed and instructions for each Serve Team area will be given. The I ♥ Canyon Festival begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Thanks to all parishioners who provided school supplies and/or volunteered for this event!
We are still in need of someone to teach the 3rd grade class on Sunday mornings this year. If you are interested, please call Adrian Johnson ASAP at 655-3302.
