The Bach Lunches are a wonderful time for Lenten reflection. They are held at various churches on Fridays during Lent and are sponsored by the Amarillo Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Each program begins at 12:05 p.m. with a 25-minute recital. Following each concert, the church will provide a place to eat your "Bach's lunch" that you bring. Coffee, tea, and water are also provided. On Friday, April 1, the Bach Lunch recital will be at St. Ann's, with Cindy Good and Dr. Elizabeth McKee as the featured organists.
March 27, 28, and 29 7 - 8 p.m. in the church We will kick off the event with a family meal in the parish hall on Sunday, March 27, at 6 pm. Children ages 6-10 can meet in the parish hall from 7 to 8 pm each night on the mission for a Lenten lesson, art projects, and games! *The nursery will also be open each night for children 0-5 years.
The next Reborn session is scheduled for Thursday, March 31, at 7 p.m. in the parish hall. This session is for those who are planning to have a son or daughter baptized in the next few months and those who have been invited to serve as a godparent. The Confirmation Retreat is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., ending with Saturday evening Mass. This retreat is mandatory for all students (8th grade and above) seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation. If anyone cannot make this retreat, please contact Adrian Johnson, DRE, as soon as possible.
The Confirmation Mass has been scheduled with Bishop Zurek's office for Saturday, May 21, at 5 p.m. Please pray for our Confirmandi as they approach the reception of this Sacrament.
It is time for the Ladies of St. Ann's and the Knights of Columbus to offer two scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Each scholarship is to help with the cost of higher education. The scholarships will be awarded in May at the reception following the Baccalaureate Mass. Visit the St. Joseph Table in the church narthex today, March 19, to honor the Solemnity of St. Joseph. At the table, you will find blessed cookies, holy cards, and an opportunity to give thanks to God and contribute to the care of the poor with a box for the poor.
Those 55 and older are invited to a Potluck Luncheon and Bingo on Friday, March 18, at 1 p.m. in the parish hall. If you are 55-70, bring a meatless main dish (for example: bean burritos, tuna casserole, deviled eggs); ages 71-80, please bring a vegetable or salad; ages 81 and older, please bring a bread, fruit, or dessert. Come join us for food, fellowship, and fun!
Nathaniel Benversie, cofounder of Exodus 90, will be in our diocese to give a talk called "Live Different." All the men of the Church are invited to come together on the evening of Friday, March 18, at St. Ann's to hear the message on personal prayer, self-sacrifice, and real fraternity. The talk is at 7 p.m., followed by an Adoration hour. Parish Stations of the Cross will also take place at 6 p.m. before the event.
Our March practices will be Thursday, March 10, and Thursday, March 24, at 5:45 p.m. We will start with a meal in the conference room in the office area. Then at 6:30 p.m. we will adjourn to the church for an hour-long practice ending between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m.
