St. Mary's Cathedral will host of Day of Reconciliation on Wednesday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Four priests will be available to hear Confessions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and five to six priests will be available from 5-9 p.m.
St. Ann's will have extended confession times during Lent. Confessions on Wednesdays will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Confessions on Saturday will be from 3-4:30 p.m. Please check the bulletin and Flocknote for certain days when there will be no priest available.
Because of the latest "shelter-in-place" restrictions put into place in Amarillo and Canyon, and subsequent instructions from the diocese, we will not have scheduled Confessions until further notice. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "Where the individual faithful find themselves in the painful impossibility of receiving sacramental absolution, it should be remembered that perfect contrition, coming from the love of God, beloved of all things, expressed by a sincere request for forgiveness, (that which the penitent is at present able to express) and accompanied by the firm resolution to have recourse, as soon as possible, to sacramental confession, obtains forgiveness of sins, even mortal ones" (cf. CCC, no. 1452).
