There will also be a Liturgy of the Word with Distribution of Ashes at 12:15 p.m. Please remember that Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting (one full meal and two small meals) and abstinence (no meat).
Our parish's youth and Knights of Columbus council will host a pancake supper on Tuesday, February 25, as we celebrate Shrove Tuesday (Mardi Gras). Please pray for the catechumens and candidates who will go through the Rite of Election and the Call to Continuing Conversion on Sunday, March 1, at St. Mary's Cathedral, and then enter into a Period of Enlightenment and Purification state of RCIA. May the Lord guide their steps and fill their hearts as they enter this final stage before being received into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil liturgy!
In case you haven't heard (LOL!), St. Ann's has a choir at both Sunday Masses! Now you can have the convenience to go to either Mass on Sunday and sing in the choir at whichever Mass you attend. Speaking of convenience, we have designed a choir practice to fit *your* schedule. Starting this month, there will be two different practice times offered. They are on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Please note the adjusted time on Wednesdays. We would like to thank our choir, cantors, and musicians for their dedication in making this new choir a success. There are several upcoming occasions to help with the choir: Ash Wednesday, Lent, Stations of the Cross, and the Holy Week and Easter season. We need choir members, cantors and musicians. Please consider joining our choir family. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy Good at the parish office or at [email protected]
Join us for our next Potluck and Bingo for parishioners 60+ on Friday, February 21, at 1 p.m. in the parish hall! A great opportunity for food, fellowship, and lots of fun!
Are you interested in learning how to make authentic Czech kolaches for this year's Czech Sausage dinner? If so, join us for one of our kolache bake sessions in the parish hall kitchen on Monday, February 17, at 8:30 a.m.; Tuesday, February 18, at 8:30 a.m., or Wednesday, February 19, at 8:30 a.m. Mary Knox and Amanda Lawson will leading us as we prepare 1,000 homemade kolaches to serve with this year's dinner.
Our annual Czech Sausage dinner is just a month away and we need many of our parishioners to volunteer to assist with preparing, serving, and cleaning up after the meal. Several sign-up sheets will be available in the narthex after our Masses for the next few weekends. Please take a few moments to take a look at these and add your name to one or more of them. Thanks for your help!
