We will begin with Mass at 6 p.m. After Mass, we will enjoy great food from a wood-fired pizza truck and spend the rest of the evening playing lots of games, including a giant inflatable obstacle course, a Fun Flush (featuring Deacon Gabe and some of your favorite youth ministry team members), water balloon volleyball, tug-of-war, a pie-eating contest and much more! You don't want to miss it!

Please make plans to stop by the parish hall this weekend after Mass to see the exhibits in our fall Parish Ministry Fair. There will be opportunities to sign up for a variety of ministries, and we really would love to see many parishioners step forward to offer their gifts and talents to serve in one or more areas of our life together as a parish community. The theme for this fall's fair is "Serve One Another in Love."

Join us this Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the parish hall for our final movie in this summer series--Alfred Hitchcock's I Confess. This film is about a priest who hears the confession of a murderer and, when the priest is then accused of that murder, cannot defend himself without violating the seal of the Confessional! The film runs just 90 minutes and is appropriate for adults and adolescents, but not children. Popcorn and drinks will be served.
Our parish's faith formation program for all ages will begin the Sunday after Labor Day (Sep. 11). We are in need of volunteers to teach the Kindergarten and 1st grade classes. Special thanks to everyone who helped make this year's I Heart Canyon Festival such a big success! Your generosity in providing school supplies to fill 125 backpacks and volunteering for the Serve Team is a testimony to our parish's commitment to obey the mandatum (or commandment) that Jesus gave to his disciples at the Last Supper to lovingly serve in His name: "As I have done for you, you should also do" (John 13:15).
This year's cook off will be on Saturday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall. This event is free for all parishioners. If you plan to attend, please sign up on one of the sheets on the glass table in the narthex so we can purchase enough meat for everyone to enjoy! Volunteers are needed to help prepare the potato salads, cole slaw, and baked beans (under the supervision of Dr. Bob Krause!) on Friday, September 16 at 10 a.m. If you can even spare an hour or two, that would be a huge help! So far, we have 5 teams registered to compete. This is your last chance if you are thinking about competing in this year's contest! Please call Debbie at 655-3302 no later than Wednesday at noon to register!
