A big thank you to everyone who donated school supplies or who is volunteering on the Serve Team! Just a reminder that all volunteers are expected to attend the rally on Tuesday evening, August 7, at Summit Church at 6:30 p.m. T-shirts will be distributed that night and instructions for all serve teams will be provided at the end of the rally.
Students entering grades 6-12 are invited to join us on Wednesday evening for a trip to the diocesan museum in Amarillo. We will meet at 6 p.m. at the parish hall and return around 8 p.m. There will be no Mass or meal this Wednesday evening, so please eat beforehand.
Our annual summer parish picnic and pool party is scheduled for the evening of Sunday, July 29. Food will be served from 6-7:30 p.m. and the Canyon Aqua Park will be open from 8-10 p.m. Please make plans to join us! Burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be provided by the parish. Parishioners should bring a side dish or dessert (that will survive the heat!) to share with others.
Please welcome to our parish the team of young adults who will be directing this week's Totus Tuus program for students entering grades 1-12. We are proud that two of the team members grew up here at St. Ann's--Collin Backus and Mallory Shehan. The other team members are Regina Phillips, a grduate of Holy Cross Catholic Academy and WTAMU, and Joshua Heinen, a Texas Tech student from Plainview. Please keep them in your prayers throughout the week ahead as they participate in this five-day program of evangelization and catechesis! The program for students entering grades 1-5 begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Students should bring a sack lunch each day (except for Friday, when we will have a pizza party). On Friday, students should wear clothes tht they can get wet. Please be prompt in dropping off and picking up students each day. The program for students entering grades 6-12 begins at 7 p.m. (except on Wednesday, when we will begin with Mass at 6 p.m. in the church, followed by our weekly meal at 6:30 p.m.), and ends around 9 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday.
Students in grades 6-8 are invited to join us for a trip to Adrenaline City in Lubbock this Saturday (August 18). There is no cost for this trip ... it's free! Please complete the pink sign-up form on the table in the narthex and return it to Adrian by no later than this Wednesday (August 15). We will meet at the parish hall on Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m and leave the parking lot by 10 a.m. We'll be eating lunch at One Guy Pizza (across from the Texas Tech University campus) and then we'll head to Adrenaline City for an afternoon of fun! You may choose from any or all of these activities at Adrenaline City--rock wall climbing, ropes course, laser tag, basketball, turf sports, or trampoline. We should be back in Canyon around 6 p.m. We still need some adult sponsors for this trip who can provide transportation and chaperone. Please call Adrian at the parish office if you can help.
